Fully managed WordPress website for a leading Indian language localization enterprise.

Introduction

A leading Indian language localization enterprise approached us to rebuild their website from scratch.

We partnered with them and offered a fully managed WordPress service to streamline their website development and maintenance processes.

In this success story, we will explore the challenges faced by the enterprise and how our fully managed WordPress service helped overcome them.

Challenge

The enterprise faced many challenges with its old WordPress website. It was built on a ready-made WordPress theme that was slow and bulky, which contributed to a suboptimal user experience. The UI/UX design was poorly implemented, lacking optimization, and failing to align with the latest standards.

Technical SEO errors further compounded the challenges, negatively affecting the search engine rankings and thus organic traffic. The cluttered and outdated design failed to resonate with the brand and created a sense of disconnect with the target audience.

Shallow content, stock images, icons, and fonts resulted in an unappealing website that lacked the depth needed to communicate the brand’s story, mission, and unique advantages. Mobile responsiveness was not pixel-perfect and there were inconsistencies in layout and design.

Moreover, the website loaded slowly, which was not up to the standards of an enterprise WordPress website.

In summary, the enterprise website was not state-of-the-art in terms of performance, user experience, and design trends necessitating a full redesign.

Solution

1. Campaigns Pages Development

Campaign Page

The client was promoting their products and services through several campaigns. For that, they needed the landing pages to be developed in HTML/PHP as per the Figma designs.

We developed campaign landing pages for insurance, multilingual voice bots, customer communications, transliteration, and many more.

On all the campaign landing pages Zoho form, “Request a demo” was integrated to collect leads and send them to Zoho CRM.

All the landing pages are optimized for page speed so that they load blazingly fast on both mobile and desktop devices. Images were optimized and lazy loaded. Videos were lazy-loaded using the lite-youtube web component.

2. On-going Page Speed Optimizations

Page speed is crucial for enterprise websites since it has a direct impact on the user experience, SEO rankings, and conversion rates.

Our page speed experts continuously monitored and optimized the website pages for loading speed for both mobile and desktop. The result was that all the pages passed the Core Web Vitals with a performance score of 70+ for mobile and 95+ for desktops.

To name a few, speed optimizations of the following pages were done regularly, home page, product page, industry page, about us, blog listing page, blog post page, case study listing page, single case study post page, contact us page, video page, podcast page, and many more.

Along with the monthly report of the development and maintenance activities, a page speed optimization report is sent to the client, which consists of data comparisons from before and after page speed optimizations. The report is composed of the following parameters: speed index, FCP, LCP, CLS, and performance score.

A few of the things that we implemented for a fast-loading website were optimizing images using next-gen file formats; fast and reliable web hosting; lazy loading for images and videos; a server configured to reduce response times; caching; asynchronous loading for non-essential scripts; and many more techniques.

3. Managing Content On The Website

The client had opted for a fully managed website service, under which we managed the content on the website. We added and updated content across different website sections, including blogs, case studies, careers, marketing landing pages, and standard B2B web pages. This helped save the client and its team countless hours in content management.

For the blogs, the client would share the content in Google Docs, along with the featured and blog internal images. Our webmaster would add the new post and review it before publishing.

For case studies, the client would share the content in the format of About Client, Challenge, Solution Provided, Testimonial, and Outcome, along with images if any. We created custom post types for case studies in the WordPress backend, with a dedicated section (meta fields) for adding the respective content pieces.

We were responsible for making any content edits to the website, including adding, updating, or removing content like FAQs, client testimonials, images, customer logos, or website copy.

At times, the client also requested changes in the menu structure. They requested adding, updating, rearranging, or removing menu items from the header and footer of the website as needed.

A mega menu was integrated into the header of the website to simplify the navigation. The mega menu consisted of its items, content, and images. It is fully responsive and touch-enabled for an enhanced mobile experience.

4. E-book Lead Magnets

Our client offered valuable content to their prospects through e-books (lead magnets). They wanted to create a section on the website where visitors could easily browse and download the e-book by filling in their contact details

We created a dedicated web page for their e-book section.

To showcase their collection of e-books, we developed an e-book listing page. Each e-book post displayed the title, description, and a prominent download button to access the e-book in PDF format. This allowed visitors to easily browse and view details of the e-books that interested them.

The ebook details page had a compelling copy, visually appealing graphics, and a lead generation form integrated with Zoho forms. When users submitted the form, they were redirected to a thank you page, and the data was pushed to the Zoho CRM.

5. Technical SEO

To improve the website’s visibility in search engines, we performed various technical and on-page SEO activities. This included adding schemas to the website, fixing broken links, optimizing alt text, adding meta descriptions provided by the client, and much more.

The client had tied up with a third-party SEO agency that performed various SEO activities daily, weekly, and monthly. We worked hand-in-hand with the SEO agency so that all the planned activities could be executed efficiently.

Our team resolved any technical issues discovered in the Google Search Console, such as page indexing issues, pages blocked by robots.txt, 4XX issues, redirect errors, duplicate content issues, and many others.

Structured data (schemas) was added to the various pages of the website. This helped search engines understand webpage content better and return more informative results in the form of featured snippets for users, thus increasing CTRs.

A few of the schemas that were added are

  • Organization schema was added to the Homepage, Our Work, About Us, What We Do, and other pages.
  • AboutPage schema, Organization schema, and Person schema to the About Us page.
  • ContactPage schema to the Contact Us page.
  •  Blog Posting Schema to the Blog section.
  • Added WebPage schema to all other pages.
  • Breadcrumbs List Schema was added to all pages of the website except the home page.
  • Video Schema was added to the video gallery page and wherever a video is added
  • Local Business Schema was added to the Products, About Us, Contact Us, and Blog pages.
  • Job Posting Schema to the careers section
  • FAQ Schema was added to the respective sections and pages
  • And many more

6. Integrated Podcasts

The client ran a podcast that featured conversations between the CEO of the company and well-known industry leaders. The podcast had three seasons with more than 20 episodes.

The client provided us with the podcast title, audio file, and images. We would then upload it to the website from the backend.

An audio player was integrated, which had standard controls (play, pause, and playback speed) along with an option to share podcasts on social media.

7. Custom Development

The client had the requirements of ongoing new feature developments on the website along with monthly maintenance activities.

We suggested the client opt for a pro plan of our Continuous Improvement Program, where each month a set number of hours were allocated. These hours were used to develop innovative new features on the website, design & develop new web pages, and redesign & redevelop existing web pages.

Further, these development hours were also used to integrate third-party APIs, develop custom workflows, streamline processes through the website, and perform many other tasks

One of the unique features we did for the project was that we created custom Gutenberg UI blocks. Various Gutenberg blocks, such as banner block, feature block, content block, accordion/tab block, slider block, and features block, were built exclusively for this project.

The entire website was developed in phases, month by month, where every month we released newly developed pages and features.

8. E-mail Newsletters

The client wanted to incorporate an email newsletter on the website. Our team seamlessly integrated newsletter subscription forms across the website, strategically placing them in the footer for easy access. The user-friendly design of the subscription form made it easier for visitors to enter their email IDs to subscribe for news and updates.

Upon subscribing, the user is added to the subscriber database, and a confirmation message is sent to them along with the admin of the site. This database was used to send out personalized marketing email campaigns.

9. Leadgen Popup Forms

Leadgen Popup Forms

The website had multiple forms, including the contact form, request demo form, popup form on the home page, and the become a partner page form. We seamlessly integrated the Zoho forms across the website and ensured that the lead information was captured and sent to the Zoho CRM for further processing.

To engage visitors and increase organic leads, we implemented popup forms on all the pages of the website. These forms would only appear when the visitor had been on the page for more than 40 seconds. This ensured that genuine leads had ample time to explore the content before being prompted to fill out the form.

10. Blog Development

Blog listing page

The client had more than 100 blog posts published on their website. To showcase that cleanly and intuitively, we developed a card-based layout that lists blogs on the page, and each card displays a captivating featured image, a blog title, and a snippet of the content. The listing page had 12 posts visible at a time (3 x 4), along with pagination to view the next set of blogs.

For the individual blogs, we adopted a two-column layout with a sidebar and main content. On the left, readers find essential details such as the author’s name, categories, published date, and estimated reading time. On the right is the blog’s content, with its title, featured image, and copy.

We also integrated social sharing buttons for Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter, allowing readers to easily share the blog on their preferred social media platforms.

One of the standout features of the single blog page was the author details section, which featured the author’s name and a Gravatar image. This established a strong connection between the writer and the readers.

We included author schema, which gave search engines useful information and increased the content’s credibility.  An estimated reading time feature was added to help readers estimate how long it would take to read the blog.

Additionally, the published or updated date was also shown. Last but not least, the blog also listed categories and tags assigned to it, which allowed readers to explore related content effortlessly.

11. Case studies Pages Development

The client wanted to showcase their success stories, which would not only highlight their diverse localization service success stories but also provide in-depth insights into the unique challenges and solutions for each project.

Similar to the blog development, our UI/UX team conceptualized a user-friendly interface that would allow visitors to navigate through the case studies effortlessly.

The first step they took was to create a case study listing page, which serves as a central hub where visitors can explore compelling customer success stories. This page was designed to be visually appealing, informative, and, above all, easy to navigate.

The next phase was developing the individual case study pages. It was designed to delve deep into the specifics of a particular project. The client shared the content structure, which served as the guide for how we designed the page layout.

The structure consisted of details such as about the client, the business challenge, the solution provided, the outcome of the project, a client testimonial, and a call-to-action section.

12. Custom Web Pages Development

Products and services Web pages are the main pillar of any enterprise website. We designed and developed these pages for the client’s entire offerings, allowing their prospects to explore the range of language localization services.

Additionally, we developed several custom web pages, such as

  • Investors,
  • Become a Partner,
  • Press Landing,
  • Problem We Solve,
  • Insights,
  • Podcasts

tailoring every web page to convey specific information and cater to different stakeholders.

Along with that, standard enterprise website pages were developed, such as an About Us page that tells the client’s story, a Contact Us page for seamless communication, a Careers page to attract potential talents, a Resources page for valuable information, and dedicated sections for blogs, articles, and case studies.

Nowadays, everybody understands the importance of an increasingly mobile-centric audience; hence, we diligently tested all web pages for responsiveness and made sure that they offer a seamless and visually pleasing experience across various devices, from desktops to smartphones.
